Parents. School not showing the speech? Got DVR? Consider organizing.
If your kids are unable to watch the speech at school and you are planning to tape it and watch it later with them, consider opening up that opportunity to your community.

I'm sure there are other parents out there who either didn't get the chance to tape it, or would be interested in discussing the content and uproar with others.

Perhaps you could invite other families to watch the speech with your family?

Who knows, maybe you can form a parental network to combat backwards school district policies in the future!

Thanks for your consideration.

Note: I don't have kids, but I was thinking what I would do in the situation of my hypothetical kids not being able to see the speech at school. This is what I came up with.

1. That is a really nice idea. Invite your kids parents & friends in a non-political way.
Treat it as a civic exercise. Order a pizza or have some other food.

I think that is a great idea.

2. Thanks. That's the idea.
After all, this speech is not about politics...or at least it wasn't, until Republicans interjected them.

4. No.
There is high fructose corn syrup in those soft drinks.

It's unhealthy.

;)

6. Not in the 50s. Pure cane sugar.
The HFCS came later.

Coke Hurts!

7. You can still buy coke with pure cane sugar. It's made in Mexico.
Got a case of it in my pantry right now.

Pretty tasty.

Did you notice the one girl's shirt matches the chair she's leaning against? Is this a picture of a young Laura Bush?

8. You bet. Costco sells it. I have a case of it, but don't
drink soft drinks all that much. Mostly, it's for guests.

I hadn't noticed the matching shirt and upholstery. Clever mom. She bought enough fabric to cover the chair and make a blouse for her daughter. Poor daughter.

The 50s and early 60s were when I grew up. Amazing times. Wouldn't go back on a bet.
