For those who aren't watching, the President is giving a wonderful speech to the children
www.cspan.org

Earlier this morning they replayed Reagan's speech to the children. There is no comparison. Reagan phoned it in, it was as if he were speaking to the garden club asking for votes. By Contrast President Obama is speaking to the children like they were young adults, capable of understanding - which is what everyone should do when speaking to any child. Just because they are small sure doesn't mean they don't understand you.

Congratulations Mr. President, you're knocking it out of the ballpark - once again.

3. I agree.
I am happy that I am able to watch this speech from my desk at work. Its a speech that these children really need to hear. I always felt like I am listening to a "father figure" when he does these speeches. I know I needed to hear this speech. He is hitting it out the park and I don't see how anyone could be against this speech.

6. He is sticking to the prepared speech
Which is too bad, since I think he is more inspiring when he wings it. I don't think the part about washing hands was in the original, though.

Many of the adults are listening very intently - I suspect that they are anticipating being grilled by right wing parents later.

I also liked the young man who introduced the President and he seemed popular with his classmates. I wonder if he is planning on a political career when he gets older?

7. So far all the e-mail responses on CNN have been supportive of the speech
a bunch of hot air over nothing, but that is what the GOP is best at
