At the end of Obama's speech to school children...
My nine-year-old had tears in her eyes and my eight-year old leaped to her feet and clapped.

That's all the approval you need, Mr. President.

This is about our kids. This is about the future of this country.

It's not about hate-filled naysayers who have hardened hearts and closed minds.

6. That reminds me of a line from Mr. Smith
Goes to Washington in Jimmy Stewart's final, great big oration to the Senate condemning the political machines and corruption where he says:
"There's no place out there for graft, or greed, or lies, or compromise with human liberties. And, uh, if that's what the grownups have done with this world that was given to them, then we'd better get those boys' camps started fast and see what the kids can do."

A child is an innocent, tabula rasa who has the capability of accomplishing great things with their great, wide eyed idealism; capable of great compassion and tolerance. It is adults that "corrupt" these burgeoning minds with their cynicism and regressive ideologies. A child's potential; a child's imagination and wide eyed idealism is far greater, far more powerful than all the greed, lies, and corruption that the "mature" adult world could ever muster.

7. I read the speech yesterday and was inspired and moved
enough to clean out the basement. I got a lot done, too.

THIS is what we elected him for: Obama brings out the best in each of us.
