2. You can bet your ass if that's the
case, there won't be a public option. No way it will happen "later".

4. That's what I was asking
I'm not sure what I heard. But with no cheerleaders Cha Cha-ing in here, it is probably what he said.

5. You mean like how Medicare was to start for senior citizens then expanded to the rest of the
populace? Yeah, that sounds like a winner. :sarcasm:

6. He was saying he thinks something should get passed that can, down the road, be built into a robust
plan.

7. Absolutely!
I mean, it is difficult to pass when you have the Senate, House AND the POTUS.
We should certainly wait until we can get rid of at least one of those disadvantages...:sarcasm:

9. Right? Probably a better bet to wait until we're out of power to implement a robust plan. nt.

13. That's what I thought I was hearing, too.
Incredible.

I see the cheerleaders have been at work on this thread. Damned if we can discuss this without pissing them off.

10. That's how the "trigger" works. Added later, if the insurance companies don't
make some specific changes. No way Congress will hold the industry to any standards.

11. So how is that any significant reform at all?
Just call it the "health care status quo" Bill

12. Well if there is no Medicare-like public option in the end, why has
Congress wasted all these months shuffling deck chairs on the Titanic? I mean we are going to end up with what we already have, which is nothing. Oh, yes they will cut spending in Medicare and Medicaid so they can continue the wars.

I'm dumbfounded. I can't believe we have such a corrupt government. We, who were once the greatest democracy in the world.
