Sinkhole almost swallows Los Angeles fire truck
A team of Los Angeles fire fighters was rushing to respond to a call about flooding when it plunged right into the source of all the trouble, the Los Angeles Times reports.

The newspaper says a water main break that caused the flood also created the sinkhole that almost swallowed the fire truck.

The Times says none of the four fire fighters was injured, but no one could figure out immediately how to shut off the water.

4. Wow. Lucky that none of those firefighters were hurt. A bulk of that cab is submerged. Definitely
an apt photo for the state of CA finances.

a 'quicksand' pit that looks solid but suddenly turns into a muddy death trap when they occur away from compacted road rock. The driver was an idiot for driving over water like that around a broken water main. I'm sure he won't make that mistake twice.
