Of copurse he was a total madman, but he fascinated me. He used to try to coerce people into pledging money by having his gospel quartet sing "I Want to Know" over and over and over. He'd just sit there and glower at the tote board and growl "Sing it!" until he got what he wanted. PURE theater. Werner Hertzog made a documentary about him called "God's Angry Man."
