Boycott Mt. Vernon, Washington

The mayor of Mt. Vernon, Washington has declared September 26, 2009 as Glenn Beck Day and plan to hand him the keys to the city. I for one would love to be there with a crew of progressives and make sure that we demonstrate clearly why this should not be so. I also would love to call for a boycott of this burg. It's major product is tulips...I for one won't be buying any this year.

The mayor's reasoning for this honor is that he said Glenn Beck is one of the most successful natives of Washington. WTF? I could rattle quite a few names that would qualify and Glenn Beck doesn't even come close. Biggest asshole to come out of Washington...yes!

It's a large hick town between Seattle and Bellingham (or Vancouver, more relevantly).

I had no idea Psycho Beck was from Mount Vernon. I lived there for two years and hated every minute of it. No offense to anyone who lives there but the people there are an acquired taste. I decided it was time to go when I encounter a big ass pickup with "white power" written across the windshield. What made it so bad was the homeless guys standing on the corner giving this idiot the thumbs up sign. I bet my first born that the white power guy didn't even bother to give the homeless guy a quarter. I will say that the progressive community in that area is awesome, however, I think they are outnumbered.
