Truthout" The American people need you to reach deep and fight back harder. If you lead, they will follow. "" When President Barack Obama addresses Congress on health care reform, America needs
the community activist who fought for displaced workers on the south side of Chicago. What America does not need is the pragmatist known for building consensus.
Consensus would mean no public option. Consensus would mean insurance companies continuing to ration health care. Consensus would mean insurance executives continuing to put profit ahead of the public interest. Consensus means health insurance premiums going to advertising and lobbying instead of paying for patient care.
Last November,
the American people chose the "community activist" to bring us real change. We did not choose business as usual in Washington. Health care is a moral issue, and we need a leader who will fight with us for real change, not a leader who will negotiate a compromise. Save compromise for issues that won't affect the lives of the 40 million Americans, who either can't afford health care or are being shut out by the current health care system.
I am one of those 40 million people who are currently shut out. My employer will pay a portion of my health care premiums, but when I apply for coverage I receive the same reason for denial every time. "

They're here to tell him they have his back! I hope Obama is listening to the inner counsel of his compassionate side that delivered him here to this health care reform crossroad.
