Mark Sanford is flat out lying
or he is going to get somebody to lie for him.

Back-channel communication. Sanford said he was in communication with state leaders during his secret trip to Argentina. Sanford did not say which leaders. Some members of the General Assembly who want Sanford removed think his secret trip and the difficulty in reaching him is grounds to remove him. Sanford said his early return from Argentina proved he could be reached.

“Bottom line, I was gone over that weekend,” Sanford said.

http://www.thestate.com/local/story/933983.html

Bottom line, he is a delusional pinhead with the morals of an alley cat. That is probably an insult to alley cats.

He won't resign because he has convinced himself that he has done nothing wrong. He minimizes what he's done more and more. Now it was just a weekend trip. Next it will be an overnighter, and after that he will have just stepped out for a walk.

Forget impeachment. He needs to be committed.

1. He could be caught in the act
and would probably tell everyone he'd taken up amateur gynecology.

The best part of all of this is that it's permanently dashed any chances he may have had for running for the GOP's 2012 nomination.

3. Q: How can you tell when a poitician is lying?
A: He's not eating, and his mouth is moving.

Old, but still true.

5. I don't think that Sanford
even views it as lying. He lives in his own world, and what he utters becomes the truth to him. He doesn't understand why everybody else doesn't adjust. :hi:

x( They can't help being what they are. But this scumbag Sanford claims to be morally superior. He's not only superior to all "lower animal lifeforms" but he's superior to you and me just for being a conservative!

9. So why did he park his vehicle at one airport
and then land in Atlanta? Why was the vehicle full of hiking stuff?
That was planned deception. Fugg off Sanford - keep on 'splaining.

11. I guess he just got his mountain ranges mixed up...
Hiking in Appalachia

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Hiking%20in%20Appalachia

Appalachian and Andes? Maybe Mark just needs to study geography a little harder. Maybe his faith moved those mountains around and he was confused?

17. I was just there visiting family
And was surprised at the number of letters to the editor that basically said, "Why can't we forgive Mark Sanford, Jesus, blah, blah, blah."

Sickening. Apparently accountability is only for the little guy and Democrats.

18. If it was up to the people of SC,
he would be out of the state much less out of a job.

I have been reading LTTE's since this adventure started. At first, a lot of them were into the New Testament mode- forgiveness and such.

However, as each day goes by, people are more into Old Testament mode - stoning and such.

We are watching the goobers in the Legislature. Everybody there has to have their ducks in a row. An election year is coming, and eveybody wants the best position for themselves or the person they are backing.

20. He is an authoritarian leader. He is lying because the sheeple need him
He is part of the race that is privileged to know what's best for the rest. It is his "duty" (pun intended) to lead and therefore lie if needed. This is a class problem a class war, the ruling class lies to us because it is for our own good. If they told us the truth it would only cause unrest. And many sheeple do appreciate it.

21. No the sheeple don't!
Edited on Wed Sep-09-09 09:10 AM by Are_grits_groceries
The sheeple are tired of his explaning and apologizing. There are still a few that will support him until the end of time.
Most people would like to send him out to Fort Sumter to stay if he won't resign. We'd know where he was, and we wouldn't have to listen to him.

25. Anyone tired of his lies are by definition not steeple. But I was speaking in general
Very few republicans resign because their followings usually look the other way and forgive them. Look as Senators Craig, Vitter, Ensign, McCain, Rep Folley, Ted Haggard, Newt, etc.

I didnt intend to suggest you were a sheeple.

26. Okay.
But Sanford will not resign. It won't matter to him how many people want him out. A majority already wants him to go.

He lives in his own world with its own perspective. Everything conforms to him. Sanford will not conform to anything.

It is beyond stubborn. It's some kind of mental condition.

27. It is a mental condition, but not unique to him. It is a condition of the power elite.
They feel they are God's gift to humanity and therefore they can lie to us for our benefit. The laws dont apply to them only us. I recommend "The Authoritarians".

24. In his cult world of C Street Christianity, Sanford is making perfect sense.
The C Street/Doug Coe Christians believe they are entitled to do anything they please to anyone, anytime, anywhere. Why? Because God told Doug Coe it's okey-doke of course. :eyes:
