CNN Contemplates Bringing Back Crossfire...
http://www.radio-info.com/newsletters/3-taylor-on-radio-info/

CNN is “auditioning talent” for a new Crossfire-style show.
Boy, talk about another opportunity (other than running for president) that may keep some talkers up at night. Mediabistro says CNN is screening both conservative and liberal types to host a new show. On the conservative wing, you could have WLS-AM, Chicago’s Roe Conn under consideration, or Steve Malzberg from WOR, New York, or “Joe Pags” Joe Pagliarulo from Texas (he’s on both WOAI, San Antonio and KPRC, Houston). On the liberal wing, the candidates list might include Cenk Uygur of Air America’s Young Turks. No indication when this new point-counterpoint programming might appear on the CNN schedule. Of course it’s not just about getting the right people. It’s about the chemistry they have together.

Hmmmmm...ya think they'll invite Jon Stewart as the first guest?

2. "It’s about the chemistry they have together"
thats all you need to know when thinking about taking any cable news show seriously. Its never about the news, its about how they come across on TV.

6. It's Their Equivelent Of Wrestling
These shows aren't around to discuss, it's Roman Circus with the more carnage the better. But it draw eyeballs that means money and that's all that matters.

5. "Jane, you ignorant slut!" Not Crossfire - but SNL's take on "Point, CounterPoint" I believe.

7. they really think anyone wants to see malzburg?
Ugh. Double ugh.

The good thing is that Buchanan now works for MSNBC and Novakula is dead.

This is CNN's chance to consider a REAL Republican, not one of those wingnuts.

8. Or Roe Conn???
I've met the guy...he's got a face for radio. I used to listen to Conn with Garry Meier in the 90's, now WLS is a dead spot on my radio.

Problem with finding a "REAL" Republican is they don't stand a chance with the rushpublican hate radio crowd and won't bring the eyeballs over from faux...which is what CNN hopes to do.

10. It should be a 4-way "Crossfire" debate
One liberal, one conservative, one libertarian, and one center-left populist. I can serve as the fourth person :)
