Does Firefox have swine flu???? |
|
I just switched over to IE, and had to re-log into DU. Try and find that password you stuck somewhere you don't remember. Have anew one now. Anyway, this has been going on for over a week. I always update, and since the last one things have not been good. Constantly with the "no connection"...Anyone else?

Firefox has always been a RAM hog. I've got 4 tabs open at the moment and it's eating up 165mb of RAM, Nero is transcoding an AVI in the background and is using less than that.
I've heard people describe it as the best RAM stress testing tool available. And yet it is still better than IE, Chrome or Opera.

17. Not so much better than Opera-- 40 tabs open... |
|
and with the mail client, RSS, and newsreader going Opera's using 102MB.
That's still a lot of memory, but it's a lot of work being done, too.

6. Thanks all. I'm presently on IE and am amazed at how much better |
|
it's running. I'm disappointed in FF, but at least I'm not losing my connection every two minutes.

7. Firefox has its problems-- try Opera... |
|
www.opera.com
It's got just about all of what Firefox has whithout having to load extensions, and even includes a decent email program.
I've got IE, Opera, Safari, Chrome, and Firefox and use them all for one thing or another, but Opera is the one that works best most of the time.

Was having the problem you described. Rebooted into FreeBSD and everything works fine. Nothing else was changed, same machine, IP, router etc.
