I call bullshit on his little charade which pushes a bill forward that doesn't contain the public option.

7. Insurance lobbyists WROTE the bill Baucus is putting up
Not a single word came from Baucus. IT was written by a lobbyist and handed to him.

9. They're making the mistake thinking the public option won't have popular support.
Yes, it's bullshit, but I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt (as opposed to them being corporate puppets - YET).

They're afraid that without "bipartisan support" (*choke* / *gag*) and if the public option isn't popular, Republicans, would gleefully reverse it and many other of the current initiatives if they got back into power.

This is somewhat reasonable considering the Republicans tried like the Dickens to end Social Security and put everything into the much more stable and rewarding stock market (*gag* #2).

But what Baucus and the other conservatives who call themselves Democrats don't have is the CONFIDENCE in the plan (or they're corporate stooges?)

*WE* know that once single payer were to hit, it would be MORE popular here than it has been anywhere else where it's been adopted. The proof of which is that it's never been SUGGESTED.

*IF* the public option is of ANY value to the people, then the Republicans won't be ABLE to get rid of it even if they TRY.

I don't trust him, either.

10. Just called Baucus' office and told her lots..that he is bought by the insurance industry that
if he had not been elected last year he would not be elected again. That he is not listening to the majority of people out here that want a strong public option on day one. Triggers and co-ops are meant to fail any chance of a future public option and he must think we are stupid but we are not. There will be a fire storm if his bill goes through. I told her I was not from Montana but because he heads the Finance Committee she needs to pass my message on. I told her he has been bribed and bought by the insurance industry and it's all over the net and they will be the only happy group if he gets his bill through. What he is doing to the people of this country is dispicable. She was quite nice and said she would pass the message on and then added she lived in Medford (where I am) before moving hehe.

Eveyone needs to call these jerks today ......we must fight for what we want.....fire storm of phone calls,,,,,,,emails.......petitions whatever you can do..do it now!

11. It's really a crying shame they won't let the American public
vote on the Public Option.

I KNOW we'd get it then.

12. His Bill is the Republican bill.
Why would the Republicans play ball (and risk upsetting thier base) when they knew that Baucus was going to give their allies (the insurance companies) everything they wanted with or without them?

What a farce.

Baucus is the new Liberman.
