1. The word "if" could be used in any scenario. This is just silly.

3. I read your profile-I shook his hand as a N. 66th Street School (Milwaukee) safety cadet during his
Wisconsin campaign.

No 'IF'S AN'S OR BUT'S" intended virgogal.

4. Good for you-----I never got that close. I think Ted's death
was harder for me than any of the others, though. We were both born in Boston the same year and I felt as if an era had finally ended since we were contemporaries.

Ah well, now it's up to the kids and grandkids.

:-)

6. and that's where the USA took it's wrong turn in it's quest to be a respected country.
.
.
.

I do believe that John F. Kennedy was assassinated due to his peaceful demeanor.

JFK was the biggest loss to the USA IMO.

No other president came close to him, with the exception of Jimmy Carter.

voters seem to prefer warriors to peacemakers.

that is sad both for the USA and the rest of the World.

(sigh)

7. He was a warrior in his own way.
I don't think you could fuck with him. I think he'd rip you to shreds. They knew they had to kill him with a bullet. Bastards. I'll never get over that.

11. I agree Grey Warrior
.
.
.

BTW - I'm Gray too (I be 59 in November)

But at least we still got our HAIR

Sanity and Peace

That's a different scenario.

I was in Grade 7 History class when the news came about JFK's assassination, and our teacher broke down and literally cried in front of us.

JFK was respected WorldWide - TRY THAT ONE ON YOU BUSH REGIME FAMILY YOU!!

I don't go to the "bush" anymore(I'm an avid camper)

I go to the woods!

Bushes suck!

12. My birthday is in Nov also
I was in 9th grade. The US was brought to it's knees with his assassination and after Ted died, I re-experienced the loss. It is overwhelming. JFK had such strength and knowledge and I've never ever felt safe since his death.

15. I think JFK was the last president to REALLY be the CIC
.
.
.

My observations lead me to believe that all Presidents after that bow to the powers of the Military Complex;

Sadly, I think that includes Barack Obama -

The Presidents are scared shitless of their own Military.

How else can one explain the empirical, invasional and occupational behaviour of the USA for the last 5 decades?

I'm listening . . .

watching . .

and praying

(sigh)

16. That's the reason I feel so little confidence in anything anyone sys or does, including Obama.
And I hate feeling that way.

10. Remember PT 109?
JFK was willing to fight for he believed in. A person can be both a warrior and peacemaker. What effect they have depends on their cause and the people opposing them.

14. Yes I do - and you are quite correct
.
.
.

A person can be both a warrior and peacemaker

as an aside -

I think one of the greatest loss for the quest of USA's decent treatment of the World was the death of Ted Kennedy.

Imagine what the USA could have been if HE was the President instead of Dim-Son Bush for the last 8 years . . .

(sigh)

17. I agree with you on that one.
I would have loved Teddy as president. I disagreed with wih him on a couple issues but would gladly have voted for him.

I think a president with military experience (Like Teddy and JFK) can be a good thing. Those who have personally experienced war would most reserved with our troops in most cases.
