13. Very condescending...health care is not a pony.
I thought that the pony meme was long dead. Especially for such an important issue.

YMMV

29. I don't agree with the sentiment of the deleted poster, however...
it is different when a DUer says something nasty to another DUer, as opposed to someone like you slapping the face of millions of people who are not insured or who are under-insured by comparing their plight to wanting a pony.

Again, YMMV.

4. He just needs to provide some change that I can believe it. Some LEADERSHIP
over the Democratic majority would help him achieve that.

24. I ABSOLUTELY agree! 1 month should have been plenty of
time to cure cancer, fix the economy, find Osama Bin Laden, end homeless, end global warming and pass a universal health care bill.. all with an unwilling congress.

sounds as easy as pie to me.

you or I could do it in a week I'm sure!

I'm ready to let the repukes back in to the white house so they can continuing screwing up our country!!!

27. You know what else?
He still had lots of time left over to send a manned mission to Mars, save the whales, end poverty, and put a turkey in every pot.

What was he doing instead?

Dancing at his own inaugural.

The bastard!

31. As commander-in-chief, I could start the the cure with a stoke of
a pen: GET OUT OF IRAQ AND AFGHANISTAN.

For domestic policy and as leader of the party, I would do an FDR and LBJ and start pushing my agenda through the majority.

But, that would be some change that I could believe in.

Excellent speech giver, though. Enjoyed it last night. Just a weak executive.

14. Bind Hero Worshipping Fail Indeed...
Its sad to see so many people stuck in the mindset of tribalism. To some people it makes NO difference whatsoever what the leader of THEIR TEAM does or doesn't do due to their tribalism mentality.

28. And yet he managed to re-contract Black Water
Edited on Wed Sep-09-09 07:10 PM by Xicano
Continues to give military aid to a country taken over by a coup. Given away billions of American's dollars to wall street. He's reversed pledges to immediately repeal tax cuts for the wealthy and take on Big Oil. Gave ok to endanger coastline environment by lifting ban on off shore drilling. Given billions to Brazil to drill for oil - that'll show big oil. He's reversed his pledges on no lobbyists in his administration by filling his administration with lobbyists. Need I continue? Probably not because tribalism runs deep in some people's minds.

12. This is sad
Dems were elected in landslides in 2006 and 2008 to enact democratic reform. If they can barely pass milquetoast reform with supermajorities in the house and senate, a popular president and a mandate then there is a serious problem. The GOP gets their agenda passed with unpopular legislation, smaller majorities, unpopular leaders and no mandates. Why can't we get ours passed?

Obama is not a golden calf. he is a politician we elected to enact reform and legislation.

how hard could it possibly be?

you or I could do it, right?

I sometimes think that the President doesn't really, TRULY understand the importance of this fight. All of the glib "didn't get your pony" bullshit snarkiness aside, you need to take this a little more seriously.
