Chris Matthews recovering from Diabetes tests
Edited on Wed Sep-09-09 06:15 PM by DainBramaged
Noticeably absent from today's coverage leading up to the President's address to Congress is MSNBC's Chris Matthews. Matthews was on the schedule to host Hardball leading in to tonight's 8pmET address, but TVNewser has learned health problems are keeping him at home.

MSNBC spokesperson Jeremy Gaines tells TVNewser Matthews had some follow-up tests Tuesday related to his diabetes. "He's going to take the rest of the week off to rest, but he's feeling fine and will be back on Monday," says Gaines

All my best in spite of my differences with him.

1. That doesn't sound good
I've had diabetes for 30 years, and never had a test that required days to recover from! I hope it isn't his kidneys.

4. Yeah that does sound rather ominous.
I wonder if he is still thinking about running for office in Pennsylvania next election season.

43. Same here, Type 1
I think it could be kidneys or CardioVascular that would take him out for that long. Sometimes if they run the probe up through the femoral artery it takes 2-3 days to become fully ambulatory, depending on the person. Wish him luck.

6. Tweety
I think Tweety is crazy and foams at the mouth much too often; however, if he were gone I would really miss him. He is like the crazy uncle ---- so annoying but in a strange, demented way life would not be as much fun without him. I wish him well and being ill is a bummer for anyone. Get well Chris and come back to annoy the hell out of us.

24. That surprised me too. Perhaps it's just that the hassle of bouncing around the
hospital was tiresome, and he figured he deserved to stretch the long weekend into a week off (that's usually my first instinct :) )

Whatever it is, hope he's alright...

29. I have been there...get well Tweety from a fellow diabetic. When your sugars run high it can effect
your kidneys and other organs. Hope he is okay. I had a strange reaction to eating an apple the other day...blood sugar jumped to 350. Strange and made me feel ill. Sometimes you never know what makes the blood sugar go up. And likewise, I have passed out when its been real low. Hang in there Tweety.
