Now that 8 years have gone by, how do you think America was affected by 9-11? |

3. I think it set it sharp relief our more warlike tendancies as a nation. |

I mean the raw materials were already there, but this made clear exactly how crazy we could get.

6. Some allowed fear to control their emotions and voted based on it. |

Its an important lesson in fear vs. personal freedoms.

Wait, just being difficult. Actually we can now be lied into war with the wrong country costing us trillions, and we don't seem to mind as long as we can prevent our children from listening to a speech by a black American president...
We can now hurl the most heinous of lies and call it a "townhall" meeting...
We can make mockery of sick and injured Americans and call it a "debate"...
We can continue individually to make financial miscalculations and suffer the consequences while giant corporations who do the same thing are given billions in bailouts...
We can sodomize children and rape women and call it "protecting America"...
We can give billions in no-bid contracts to the cronies of the POTUS and VPOTUS, who are benefiting from their war, and not think anything of it...
We can out a covert American CIA agent who is tracking WMDs through the middle-East while claiming to want to stop WMDs from entering the middle-East (I've never quite figured this one out, but no one seems to care).
We can have a POTUS make fun at the fact that he hasn't found WMDs, the reason he gave for the invasion of Iraq, at a White House Press Club dinner while 5,000 American troops and over a million Iraqis lie dead as a result of his invasion...
We can have the friends and business partners of the POTUS attack us and leave over 3,000 Americans dead...
We can have a "right-wing" who didn't mind the trillions for the Iraq War, the billions in bailouts for Wall-Street and banking CEOs, and tapping Americans illegally by BushCo, but will scream "too much government" when the prospect of national health-care is raised...
We can now have neo-cons with assault rifles show up at the POTUS's town-hall appearances...
We can now have debates in the media where the winner is judged, not by how convincing the argument is, but by how loud they scream.
And we can have a society where logic and reason take a back seat to myth and superstition...
Did I leave anything out?

their oil under the guise that our "government" was going after those behind 9/11. And the idiots in this country, aka RepubliKLANS, fell for it, the dumbasses.

I'd say it was infected.
Infected with fear. Infected with hatred. Infected with cowardice in the face of tyranny.

22. It's becoming very difficult for gullible Americans |
|
to go back to sleep. The nightmare continues for both, the sleepwalkers and the millions who have opened their eyes. We're still in the Twilight Zone, but the truth has a way of making itself ultimately unavoidable.
Good luck to us all.
