Congressman Yells 'You Lie' During Obama Speech - No sanction from Speaker Pelosi per FoxNews

Congressman Yells 'You Lie' During Obama Speech
The outburst caused Obama to pause briefly before he went on with his speech

FOXNews.com

Wednesday, September 09, 2009

President Obama's address Wednesday to Congress was greeted warmly with applause from Democrats, but also some disruptions, including one moment in which a congressman accused Obama of lying.

South Carolina Republican Rep. Joe Wilson shouted "You lie!" after Obama had talked about illegal immigrants.

Wilson's outburst caused Obama to pause briefly before he went on with his speech. Overhead in the visitors' gallery, first Lady Michelle Obama shook her head from side to side.

snip...
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi wasn't immediately aware who yelled "you lie" during Obama's speech, but she told FOX News that she would not move to sanction anyone for it.

7. From the look on her face I trust she will. By the way I would like to
know who the congressman was who had the sign laying on his lap and what did it say? Also what were the papers the pugs were holding up? And why did VP Biden open the envelope on his desk just after wilson was protesting? I assumed it was a copy of the speech.

9. Louie Gohert -
a GOPig from Texas. That was the guy with the sign.

I don't know about papers, and the envelope probably did contain a copy of the speech.

Or a seating chart.

Nancy, don't forget, is Italian, the daughter of a Baltimore politician.

She knows how to get things done.....................

15. Supposedly the papers were copies of health care bills...
I guess theirs were more important than anyone else's....

2. Let us handle it Nancy. I don't think Obama would want her to do it either.

10. You know what? I think that's wise of her
If she did, it would only turn into a Nancy Pelosi issue, and a he said, she did type duel with the right.

She's not the issue - no one is but Joe Wilson and his really boorish behavior.

I heard that McCain has already told him to apologize. Let them have to publicly police their own or see their party exposed as one out in the far right wilderness...

12. "after Obama had talked about illegal immigrants."
Why don't they say specifically that he was setting the record straight on healthcare for them?
