Policy question: would employers pay part of the public option premium?
That is, like Medicare or FICA taxes? Employer pays half, worker pays the other half?

I'm all for an affordable premium for a public option, but just like with private insurance, I think the employer should have to pay as well.

1. I don't think your employer has to pay part of your private insurance.
I think they just have to offer it.

2. No
Your employer, would be required to offer Insurance. Let me rephrase that. If your employer has 500 or more employees, they are required to offer insurance. Small business, I am not so sure about. But basically what was said tonight was only people who don't have insurance, unemployed, and the poor will be able to access this option.
