It may be bad for us if all we talk about is him and not the healthcare reform.
Your opinion: will the MSM focus over this incident so much that it will take too much focus out of Obama's speech, or will it instead help people look into the heart of the problem and see that one side is lying and determine which is?
Your take...?

6. Very bad for Repukes, excellent for the Health Care bill. |
|
Like I told my husband tonight before the speech, the Republicans forget that while people are confused on the health care bill, they still like Obama. I predicted they would insult the President tonight, thereby earning the wrath of a lot of people who've been on the fence.

2. I think he really exposed the Repukes for what they are. |
|
And he needs to get in a lot of trouble for this.
And since he IS a Repuke, I doubt the MSM will cover it for long. After all, it's not like a Democrat insulted Bush.

3. It is important because it is about respect |
|
Without respect, you have NOTHING. We MUST fight this. We should not be so willing to keep letting this petty shit slide...republicans NEVER do and they score points at every turn. We always smile and act like we are bigger than they are--but nobody notices and a pattern of accepted disrespect ensues.

13. One of the many ways in which we lose because we worry more about appearing "bigger than them" |
|
than about getting progressive policy passed. Sometimes you just gotta hit the bully back.

4. Good because it makes the GOP look like morans |
|
Just like exposing the birther nonsense.
And the death panels.
And all the other bullshit they are spreading.
I live in a red state. The GOP is losing members at a rapid pace. We have our county Dems meeting in a few days and I guarantee there will be several new people there who used to be GOP.

may actually help to wake up and rally the currently non-participatory part of the electorate (those who woke up to vote for a change but then fell promptly back to sleep) in order to hopefully push the progressive agenda forward.

9. I agree MSM got another out to once again not talk about it |
|
Last time out we spent 2 weeks on police-race relations. This time I guess we will talk about how to treat the president... Anything for the MSM to not talk about actual policy.

11. I wonder how Natalie Maines feels about this? |
|
Edited on Wed Sep-09-09 10:02 PM by kwolf68
She made a totally benign statement that was just a flippant comment to a group of her fans and the Dixie Chicks career was basically derailed (though their follow up album did hit #1, they have never been the same).
She was disrespecting a president and had to be 'punished' for that...I am quite sure many natives of South Carolina felt compelled to burn Dixie Chicks records, to quit supporting them and to force an outright ban on their music.
Will those same people be voting for Joe Wilson next year?

Joe Wilson's all anyone will talk about, and no one will take a close look at his shitty plan.
