6. Happy Birthday!!
I so agree....and the presense of Uncle Teddy was very strong there tonight!! Pres. Obama knocked it out of the park.....but the last portion of the speech hit me....the place was in silence, almost a reverence, and common decency beamed forth. It brought me to tears. GOBAMA!! I will trust MY LIFE in this man's hands!!!

9. Happy Birthday!
I am still confused after tonight. To me it was like a Union meeting. They talk all around the questions asked and still never answer them. Jesus, at least for me a simple yes or no, a simple healthcare for all or no. Now I have to worry about being penalized if I can't afford to buy into something. It seems everyone will be forced to buy insurance.
I have cadillac insurance right now. But I really wanted a public plan so I could walk away from my trade and start a new career without having to worry about healthcare. I am not ranting towards you, I'm sorry. Just frustrated. :(

11. He clearly stated that if you can't find affordable health care, the government
will provide an affordable choice to you.

And thanks for the happy bday! :)

12. That's because
you're still in the cult of personality (I love the guy too) and aren't critically examining the policy he laid out from a progressive point of view. Too little. I'd rather no course of action be taken to hasten the end of the whole fucking ball of wax, but that's just me, I have a nihilistic bent.

13. I've posted my real critique in several other threads
To be honest though, the shot in the arm for wavering Democrats may be enough to get a public option passed, at least that's what one Congressman said on MSNBC. Hey, trying to have a good feeling once in a while isn't a bad thing, is it?

15. I was reminded about how impressed I was with Obama tonight. But I also
realized how much I projected onto him what I wanted him to be.

He's a great President and I fully support him, but the ga-ga goggles have been removed.

20. It's almost unanimously being praised by Dems and some say it might help get public option
Dems have been energized and so I think my pic above is a perfect example of what he did tonight. Not sure why you're so grumpy - we made great strides tonight.

So, I think the sour ones here on DU may be in the minority at this point.
