Anthony Weiner on with Charlie Rose post speech.
Being as kind and generous and supportive as he can be, despite the following:

Obama stuck a finger in my eye because I'm for single payer.

Speech was a Rorschach test, you can see anything you want in it.

Public option must play a prominent role because it is the only thing which has the capability of driving down premiums being charged by the for-profits.

3. I'll be curious to see and hear what he *actually* says...
Divorced from the ridiculous self-indulgent whining of those complaining about Obama not doing what always said he wouldn't do, and doesn't have the ability to do in any case.

4. Those are direct quotes. Can't get any more actual than that.

5. The next roundtable is administering last rites to the public option.

In the corporate state, the corporate media are state media.

6. Nothing against Weeney, but his is a very progressive district, out of 435.
He has nothing to lose by speaking his mind. His seat is safe. He doesn't have to build concensus on a national level, just a single district in NY. It was a fantastic address, and with all the shit coming from the right, the last thing this president needs is more stubborn ideological inflexibility from the progressive & blue dog caucuses.
