In The Name of Love by U2

Health care for all is the battle of our time. Yes we have many others still - gay rights, racism still around, the rights of women to control their own body, etc.

But one thing that unites us all, one thing we can all relate to and need - is health care.

One man stood and fought, and changed our country. Others helped to be sure, but it took that one to keep it going, to bring it to the forefront and keep it there.

This is not an us versus them thing, it transcends all that. It is about helping one another, it is about making sure those we say we care about have the care they need when they are sick.

WE CAN do better than we have. You believe America is some special and awesome place, then show the world we can do better.

Lead, like we once did.

Why can't we have the best health care in the world and have it free for all of the citizens here? I believe we can.

Cause unlike so many on the right, I truly believe we can forge from this melting pot something that would be the envy of the world.

I have a dream too.

Care for all our people.

2. I agree, but can we drop the 'free for all'
bit?

People in nations with systems of nationalized health care pay for it through a tax or levy on their income - just like our social security tax. It's 'free' at the point of service, but it's not 'free'.

3. Yeah I am cool with that - but
Nothing is free, but I was thinking more of those on the lower end mainly.

War is not free either, but people don't think of themselves as having to pay for it. So in that sense I used 'free'.

Ask anyone on the RW how much they are paying for our military and they won't be able to answer, because to them it does not cost them anything as they don't get a bill.

'Free' to many is not getting a bill for something, hence my context in the op.

4. Of all the forms of inequality,
Injustice in health care is the most shocking and inhumane.

5. And the most unnecessary, and easiest to fix.
yeah, war's unnecessary too. But you couldn't end all war by inserting a few words in the Medicare rules. You COULD end the corporate bastardization of health care. Rather than 1300 pages of bullshit RomneyHillaryMcCainCare with "maybe" a "public option" for 5% sometime after the next solar eclipse.
