3. I doubt it - his opponent is a 13 year veteran of the Marine Corp |
|
The peoople that like that kind of boorish behavior already were for him.
The Democrats probably never liked him but are now motivated to take him out.
The Independents are not going to be impressed and the reasonable Republicans are going to be angry.
I doubt he gained any local support although he probably will raise a lot of out of district money but that may backfire on him as well.

4. Does the name Preston Brooks ring a bell?... |
|
...I wonder how many enthusiastic folks from the Palmetto State will send canes to Wilson this week?

6. His numbers may go up among republicans |
|
but I am not so sure he furthered his cause. He just may well have hurt it and made one of his opponents stronger in the process.

11. Clearly you have no notion of how close his last election was. Which makes one wonder... |

A excerpt of article I found:
'Rob Miller, Joe 'You Lie' Wilson Opponent, Raises $75,000 In One Night
Written by Jake on Sep-10-09 12:03am We're still not sure what exactly the fallout will be from Joe Wilson (R-SC) yelling "You lie!" at Barack Obama during his speech outlining his plans for health care reform. It's possible Wilson will become something of a hero within right-wing circles, or it's possible his outburst will see him drummed out of the GOP.
One thing is sure though: it really, really helped his opponent Rob Miller. The South Carolina Democrat had already attempted to unseat Wilson in 2008, but came a few votes short. Now, following Wilson's moment, Miller has already raised $75,000 and counting from progressives who want to unseat Wilson.'
I offer my prayers in unseating that disrespectful delinquent....
