So I ventured over to Free Republic to read responses to the speech and kept reading the same thing:

I also took a look at Glenn Beck's 912project page, looking for any hints as to what they have in store for their march on Washington this weekend.

Glenn Beck told his followers that they didn't need to watch the speech because: the speech doesn't matter.
In a post entitled "Why Obama's Speech Doesn't Matter," Beck explains that the speech he doesn't need to watch doesn't matter because, well, it doesn't matter.
Seriously.

These people are really desperate to hide from reality at this point.
On some subconscious level they must know that their skewed version of reality will be threatened if they listen to President Obama, so they are sticking their fingers in their ears and closing their eyes like children.

they'll start losing them. THe entire effort to not watch was well orchestrated. Even the local guy here in San Antonio (Joe Pags) was telling people they "now had the information they need to recognize the lies". They intended to minimize the damage knowing Obama would get a big bump. I saw a poll last night that said he did get about an immediate 12 point bump.
