Those attacks and repeated comments on the attacks sell air time, newspapers and magazines. Our press and now the whole media scape was never really doing its job unless that job was to sell newspapers and curry powerful friends. The exception might be the "yellow press" at the turn of the 20th century which did much to expose the gross inequities and dire living conditions of the time. But then they were a bunch of "commies, socialists, and progressives like Mother Jones.
Those are who we need now and the Internet is the only place to find them.
