South Carolinians are NOT amused.
A quick glance at the Post and Courier's web site today indicates that South Carolinians are not happy with Rep Joe Wilson's boorish, disrespectful outburst during the President's address to Congress last night.

Already weary of Gov Sanford's sexapades, and Sen DeMint's misrepresentations of the pending health care legislation and pandering to the teabaggers and other wingnuts in his party, South Carolinians (at least the majority of those posting comments on the paper's web site are outraged by another elected representative emarrassing the state on the national stage.

On the bright side, according to MSNBC, Wilson's Democratic opponent, who almost beat him during the last election, raised over $100,000 last night.

3. Cool beyond my wildest dreams!
Wilson's son is running for State Atty Gen. I'm hoping this will ruin his chances, too.

I don't see it happening anytime soon but then again before Jim Demented we had Fritz Hollings for years and a lot of folks are not fond of Lindsey Graham

2. "Manners are the sign of a good education" - I heard Clyburn
say that....and having lived in SC for a couple of years, I think Wilson's outburst is an affront to most S. Carolinians.

9. I've lived here since '87,
and I don't think most of the people I know will approve of this. It's an outrage, especially since he is still basically calling Obama a liar, saying that he disagrees with Obama's statement. He's also lying when he says it was an emotional outburst. He had a copy of the speech. They all did.

10. Jim Clyburn my favorite
South Carolina Representative Oh how I wish I could say I was in his district, unfortunately I live in Mr. Wilson's district and I am appalled by that.

12. A belated welcome to DU!
:hi: Are you planning on writing Wilson, or calling him? Hopefully, he will lose his next election.

5. Good news, although i wouldn't say that Wilson "almost" was defeated last election
Wilson won by 8 percentage points, a larger margin than Obama's over McCain

17. You can add Lindsay Graham to the assclowns catagory.
He found Obama's tone "combative", which it would appear, is a new word for "uppity". Gawd, these people are so tone deaf.

18. If the Repugs continue to screw up like Wilson, their opponents won't have to campaign.
That was a good message for his opponent to raise that much money without lifting a finger.

19. More good news!
Just heard on CNN that Clyburn and House Dems ARE looking into sanctions, so maybe what Pelosi was purported to have said last night (censure is off the table) is either inaccurate or she's had a change of heart.

Republicans are also looking at sanctions (MSNBC).

Gawd, I love the smell of public humiliation in the morning!:bounce: :bounce:
