I see how they are going to take this away from Obama and Obama needs to act quickly.

Obama has already come out yesterday before the speech and said they will not consider Baucus's plan. (see: http://journals.democraticunderground.com/berni_mccoy/755 )

And yet, the Republicans criticisms today (at least as I've seen it) are all criticizing the Baucus plan, which everyone agrees is terrible. But they are going to take all their talking points based on that plan and tie them with "Obama's Plan".

This is a huge problem in my opinion and Obama needs to follow-up last night with a complete shutdown of the Baucus plan.

1. Why do you think Baucus was in such a hurry
to get it out before the speech?

2. I'm sorry to convey this ...
but when it comes down to brass tacks, Obama is on the side of Big Business, NOT the middle class.

The very poor and the very rich will be just fine. The rest of us will fight for scraps as "The Working Poor." That's all this bill does - takes money out of the pockets of the Middle Class and gives it to Big Insurance.

He's so eloquent, most of us will smile and thank him for taking our money.

Now THAT's a gift of a TWO-FER (transfer of wealth up from the middle class & enrich democratic representatives and their families working on K Street).

All the while we'll be thanking our corporate masters ... oh how wonderful they are! :puke:

6. I'm a dyed in the wool progressive democrat, but I will not follow "the leader"
off of a financial cliff.

Just wait and see? There will be NO Public Option and more wealth will be transferred from the middle class to the ultra-wealthy.

I don't want to be right but I will not be blind, even though it does HURT. I canvassed and worked for the Obama Campaign.

3. That's their game plan: Divert attention from real reform by arguing against pseudo-reform.
