Repubs sitting on their hands and scowling last night
I don't know why they are acting that way.
Their buddies in the corporate insurance world are writing the Bills and Obama is delivering for them.

What's their problem?

1. Dog & Pony Show
Wow...they took all the bills and wrote it into one last night and no one noticed? Amazing. While I'm not 100% with all I'm hearing, I don't see the corporates writing this bill. They are making too big of profits with the status quo.

Nonetheless...the GOOPers need to act like petulant children because that's who they are...a minority that has made themselves irrelevant. The only way they get attention is by throwing tantrums and lying and distorting...and it's also what their horde wants to see and hear. Remember, we're stuck with the dead-enders. Almost every "moderate" rushpublican has been either beaten by a Democrat or beaten down by a corrupt party that long ago jumped the shark.

Their problem? They lost power and are irrelevant. That's their problem.

3. Bipartisan Republicans?!
Republicans have always been irrelevant when it comes to true reform. They have always obstructed.

Case in point: President Obama claimed in his speech that Medicare was passed in a bipartisan manner, with the help of Republicans. If you look up the actual vote in 1965, this is what you will find:

Number of House Republicans voting "Yea" (as in "Yes")for Medicare: only 70 out of 140
Number of Senate Republicans voting "Yea" for Medicare: only 13 out of 32

Are these the numbers that show bipartisanship? Less than half of the Republicans voted for Medicare. Apparently that is their glowing example of cooperation with liberals.

Republicans have not done a progressive thing for this country since freeing the slaves (arguably their only act that actually advanced this country). If they want to become relevant once again, they need to realize that only liberal progressive action helps this country (something I severely doubt I will see in the near future).

5. Welcome To DU
I didn't say "bi-partisan"...I find that to be an oxymoron, but "moderate". There is a difference. Just like you had some Democrats who are fiscally conservative yet socially liberal, you have or should I say had some on the other side who you could do business with.

You are right about the lack of any GOOP cooperation and to think that this party at this time would change stripes overnight after decades of obstruction and outright disdain for the middle class is a folly. However, it's the extremes that are now in control of the rushpublican party and all that is said in their parallel universe is all they have...up is down, black is white and so on. They can't face reality since they would then have to assume their share of the blame and no way does a rushpublican ever take responsibility. They just don't.

BTW...give Teddy Roosevelt some love. He pushed through a lot of Progressive legislation 100 years ago.

4. I also noted DiFi not applauding, but that was only once when the
camera was panning that area. She did not appear overly enthusiastic either, but again, that may have just been a camera catch.

6. Probably because the President said the government will provide
an affordable choice (PUBLIC OPTION) for those who can't afford insurance.

Or they might be pissed off because the President said it will be ILLEGAL for insurance companies to deny coverage based on pre-existing conditions.

Or they might be pissed off because the President said it will be ILLEGAL for insurance companies to kick people off their plans because they got actually got sick and tried to use their insurance benefits.

Or they might be pissed off because the PRESIDENT VERBALLY KICKED THEM IN THE GROIN NUMEROUS TIMES FOR LYING ABOUT "DEATH PANELS", A "GOVERNMENT TAKE-OVER", OR FREE INSURANCE FOR ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS.

Not sure why you'd be so confused about the repukes are pissed off.
