Republicans say President missed "opportunity" to take public option off the table. |
|
Senator Chuck Grassley and Rep. Eric Cantor, two Republican leaders in the health care debate, both say that the President missed an opportunity to dismiss the public option from the discussions. The Republican from Louisiana who gave the Republican response to the President, also stated that the President missed a chance to get rid of the "government-run" option.
Obviously, the "public option" is the issue that sticks in the craws of most Republicans. Without the public option, the President may get 60 votes in the senate. With the public option, he will struggle to get the 51 votes necessary to pass a bill. Which will he choose?
Most liberals have not changed their view about the necessity of the public option. This appears to be where the battle over health care will be fought going forward. Will the President and the Democrats stand tough or will they fold on the public option? That is the question.

This health care bill will pass and Grassley and his repuke buddies will be on record as having voted AGAINST it.. AGAINST poor families who have no insurance and AGAINST making it illegal for insurance companies to deny coverage due to pre-existing conditions. What a friggin' ASSHOLE!

3. As if they would vote for a plan without the public option. |
|
Complete horseshit. As we learned over the last 8 years they think of party and winning only. The good of the nation is way down the list...always has been. They do know this. If the Democrats pass a bill that proves to be good for the citizens, then they, as a party, will be out of power for decades. That is what they are all about and now my own republican brother see's through their shit.

Even without the P.O., the bill will be full of commie socialism!
This is why the far left needs to listen to right wing nuts. They will feel so much better, learning that the Dem President and Dem Congress are so much farther to the left than even they are!

9. Cantor spent the whole time texting, so how does he even know what Obama talked about? |
|
Cantor in a way was ruder than Joe Wilson.

10. Obama is going to pass health reform and I think with a public option because of Ted Kennedy |
|
he will not let Ted down. If we have to do it by reconciliation we will.

11. If it sticks in their craw so much, then they can give up their |
|
own cushy plans, paid for by the very taxpayers who often don't have insurance or proper coverage of their own. They have their own "socialized" health care, they just refuse to recognize that that's what it is. But try getting them to give it up, it just ain't gonna happen.
