Call Joe Wilson out Mr. President!
I'd like to see the President follow through on his promise and IMMEDIATELY call him out as promised!!! He (or his office) should speak directly to Joe Wilson and tell him to sit down and shut up!! Wilson should be labeled the dishonest, nasty racist that he is who isn't fit to participate in grown up discussions about something as important as this.

1. No, just no. Pelosi should handle this. Obama should stay above this particular incident. n/t

3. Pelosi has rules and precedent to uphold
but I have no problem if she want to let Wilson dangle for a while longer.
The GOP needs to feel every little bit of the backlash.

2. Didn't he get called out by like 3/4 of the American populace already?
Given that he's gotten so much angry mail that his House website's been flying apart at the seams since last night and even his own party's been castigating him at times, I think we can say he's gotten called out as a dishonest, nasty racist who isn't fit to participate in grown-up discussions.

(Honestly, I'm wondering if the point of his little minitantrum wasn't, y'know, to cause the discussion today to chiefly be about Joe Wilson in order to prevent or reduce discussion of the actual speech.)

4. To be fair, Wilson embarrassed himself before the President issued his warning.

6. Wow, that IS being fair!
At this point I don't think we have to worry about who wins in a "fair-off"!

5. As I wrote the OP
I was reminded that the conventional wisdom has always been: "if your opponent is self-destructing, get out of the way and let it happen". My wife is much better at not getting caught up in the day-to-day. She has more than I do faith in the American people's intelligence and trusts them to sort through the crap. I just get angry and want someone to knock the bullies down! Strategically, I think she's right and I'm wrong but I'd like to see this idiot pay with a pound of flesh!
