Seriously WTF is going on here?

Is Glenn BecKKK going to pick apart the entire Obama administration?

Will the Democrats remove every single appointee that Glenn Beck targets and calls a "commie"?

This pisses me off to no end. Beck can now claim two victories on his obsession to rid the Obama admin of "commie-marxist-fascist afro-leninists"!

WTF, people? WTF? Where's the spine?

Yosi Sergant, Obama Aide, Asked To Resign: Glenn Beck Strikes Again

Glenn Beck has struck again.

Yosi Sergant, who recently popped up on Beck's radar for his involvement in a conference call on national service, has been asked to resign as communications director by the National Endowment for the Arts, sources familiar with the move tell the Huffington Post.

At issue was an August conference call in which the NEA encouraged select artists to participate in an administration project dubbed "United We Serve" and led by the first lady.

Beck attacked Sergant and the NEA on his Fox News talk show, accusing the agency of propaganda efforts similar to those used by Nazi Germany. And now Sergant has been tossed overboard, making him Beck's second victim in his campaign to rid the administration of perceived radicals, socialists, communists, fascists, anarchists and all other manner of nefarious influences.

Perhaps not coincidentally, both Sergant and Van Jones - Beck's first takedown - have roots in on-the-ground organizing and were tightly connected with the grassroots progressive community.

The NEA wouldn't comment on Sergant's situation specifically, saying that it was a confidential personnel matter.

The White House did not come to Sergant's defense but says it was not involved in asking him to leave. "The White House did not ask for Mr. Sergant's resignation," administration spokesman Shin Inouye told HuffPost.

(...)

Are they really going to let a TV clown with serious mental issues run the White House?
Why don't they just ask Beck directly who they can appoint? This is laughable!

he makes WH personnel decisions and has a private army of teabaggers that jump when he tells them to.

A clear and present danger to America

4. The Whitehouse has already stated that they did not has for him to resign!
did you read the entire article? Every wire service on the net has now picked up on Huff Post's irresponsible reporting. Huffpo has handed Beck another victory, not the administation! The NEA said the reasons for the resignation were personal. Stop shooting Obama in the foot please!

This is not the first time Huffpo has been irresponsible in its "reporting."

5. I did NOT claim Obama asked for his resignation. See my OP
Edited on Thu Sep-10-09 12:32 PM by Julius Civitatus
Please don't put words in my mouth.
The article does point the NEA asked him to resign after Beck targeted Sergant on his show yesterday. It can't be a coincidence.

In any case, I'm going with what the HP article says. Let's see what else is reported in this matter.

10. The problem isn't that the White House didn't ask him to resign.
It's that the White House isn't defending him or refusing to accept his resignation. He's being hung out to dry.

Beck will now go after every appointee Obama has ever made or wil ever make. It's just " high tech lynching" (as much as I don't want to quote Justice Thomas).

8. Maybe some of Beck's idiot listeners are threatening these guys
It would not be a stretch to imagine that these people are getting phone and email messages full of semi literate threats on their lives and the lives of their family members.

I'd quit too if a hundred people called in and said they were gonna kill my wife, kids or grandkids.

How do you even track down that many threats? And they don't want to acknowledge that the threats are working for obvious reasons. The assholes would soon be threatening every official in the administration.

9. I wouldn't put it past those crazy wingnuts
That would be a very compelling reason to resign, but at the same time it would be a way of handing them a victory. Furthermore, it would tell them that using intimidation and threats works. Glenn Beck is creating an army of crazies; this is dangerous.

Nothing about the elections in '06 or '08 changed that one bit.

15. OK, I got half-way through the vids on the HuffPo site and came to a conclusion
Edited on Thu Sep-10-09 02:11 PM by Turborama
I couldn't listen to BecKKK and his mole anymore. The conclusion is this, when he started talking about propaganda I instantly thought about how hypocritical all of this is. I mean, Glenn BecKKK on FOX talking about propaganda? So, what needs to be done is to gather up all the links the GOP and corporations (via their front groups such as "Americans for Prosperity") have and have had with Faux news and collate them into an indicting article that firmly accuses Faux of promoting hidden agendas for these said parties. What Faux spews out is the text book definition of "propaganda" and a massive spotlight needs to be shone on it. I'm talking about an article and video that has to go viral.

Fuck, I was/am furious about the Van Jones thing. Now, with that in mind and after watching that BecKKK video, I'm making the bringing down of Faux News a personal crusade. If anyone wants to work with me on this please let me know by PM...
