Personalizing the health care debate

My wife is a Legal Aid attorney in Columbia SC (yes, screaming Joe Wilson is my representative). Her agency provides civil court assistance to those below 125% of the poverty line, and her work is almost exclusively bankruptcy and home foreclosures. She had a meeting with a woman today to sign the papers for her bankruptcy. While she has health insurance, the co-pays and deductibles had gotten to the point she was going to lose her house without bankruptcy protection.
She began crying during the session, and said that her doctor had recommended her to a surgeon to put a stent in her heart. The surgeon told her two things: that she did need the stent, but that due to her outstanding medical bills he refused to perform the surgery.
So, let's all get behind Little Joe Wilson and the GOP and kill health care reform so bastards like this doctor and the insurance companies can continue to grow richer by screwing the American public.
