Clyburn just ripped Wilson a new one on MSNBC
Said he had asked Wilson to go to the well of the House and apologize, which Wilson refused to do. Said Wilson is not remorseful at all, and that he(Clyburn) will ask for a vote of Disapproval (not the same as censure).

It was a thing of beauty! Hopefully, it will be replayed later.

17. Clyburn should have known better than to ask to apologize from the floor.
Wilson is a racist and there is no way that he was going to act on the suggestion of a black man.

If Congressman Clyburn suggested to Wilson that he continue to breathe, Wilson would hold his breath til he passed out just to spite him.

19. I think Rep Clyburn knew full well Wilson would refuse...
By first requesting it, Clyburn took away any way in which Wilson could whine he was never asked to apologize in the well of the House. It also gives Clyburn's move to request a vote of disapproval more clout, imo.

Looks like censure would, or could, include a fine. Vote of Disapproval just a public acknowledgment of displeasure of behavior by one's constituents.

9. I know that Pres. Obama accepted his apology but I think
the Congress needs to do something to show that this behavior won't be tolerated by another one next time. It was embarrassing and a disgrace.

12. Wilson was pandering to his base and his backers, who will see his
outburst as "courageous." Of course he isn't remorseful. His shtick now will be to play the battered warrior, wounded but unbowed. Disgusting, but he knows it will work with the people he is playing to.

15. Nancy needs to get off of her overly confident in her job ASS and censure that dickwipe.
I am sick of her "leadership" style.

16. I donated $50 to Wilson's opponent, with pleasure - this, on the same day I received a letter from
BC/BS telling me that my policy has been dropped.

P.S. Obama was magnificent!
