Teabaggers, move over! Our own March on Washington D.C. is on Sunday, September 13 gathering at 10:00 a.m. by the Lincoln Memorial and beginning the march to the Capitol building at 12:00 noon. If the route is too far for you, just show up at the lawn near the Capitol steps before 12:00 noon. Our event is one day after the teabagger's march, so let's show them a greater turnout, just as we did to help elect the President. Let your voice be heard clearly for meaningful Health Insurance Reform Now!
Suggested optional accessories:
1) Signs! Make your own!
2) Video camera to document the event
3) Backpack or mini cooler with water and snacks
4) Portable folding chair or blanket
5) Sunglasses, sunscreen, hat, small umbrella
6) Walking map of Capitol area and comfortable walking shoes
While we protest, let's respect our nation's capital by obeying all directives from the U.S. Capitol Police and the D.C. Metro police, and also avoiding the following:
1) Littering or defacing the grounds of the National Mall
2) Bringing contraband or merchandise to sell without a permit
3) Engaging in overly aggressive confrontations with those opposed to our agenda

some more from
http://americansunitedhcr.wordpress.com/One of the messages waiting for me on the phone message machine was from Officer Garrison of the Capitol Police (I had spoken to him twice yesterday). He could not guarantee anything, but he had been put in charge of our request for a permit. We went through the details and it looks like we have the Upper Senate Park which holds 2,500. WE CANNOT MARCH FROM THE LINCOLN MEMORIAL. Because of his kindness I want to let everyone know to MEET at the Upper Senate Park.apparently a representative Fattah was going to introduce a resolution making 9-13-09 a national day of health or somesuch, and this person withdrew the resolution, leaving the march without a permit. i just learned this while responding to your post. will continue to research, but as of this moment i have every intention of going to DC on the 13th. maybe there's an anti-war or 911 truth protest going on somewhere. i just gotta go do something. dang
frustrating. anyhow i'm driving from NC and expect to reach DC by 10 am. i just hope there's a million others showing up.
