So I applied for a Union Plus Credit Card
Well many here know I am completely against getting in debt.

I haven't applied for credit in a verrryyyy long time. (even though I maintain open accounts to keep a positive credit score as part of my overall financial health.)

But now that I am in a union for the first time ever (CWA), and was made aware of a Union Plus credit card sporting the CWA on the front, I said "what the hell" and applied for it.

I'm not actually going to use the thing, but it's a tiny little thing I can do to support my union.

I am in the CWA at AT&T. I am a brand new technician.... and even though I have only been here a short while it is a work place like no other. Yes, my life has become the company.... (60+ hour weeks forever, literally) but I feel very connected to my coworkers in a way I have not experienced at previous employers. The relationship between management and non-management is very interesting.

All I can say is WTF was I doing working a non-union job for so long? If I had known AT&T was union (yes, somehow I was that ignorant) I would have done this years ago. I am in the deep south and other than UPS I am aware of no other union employer in my area.

2. Funny I just closed my only two credit card accounts today.
I never used them, just kept them open with a very small balance and had them take the minimum payment from my bank account.

I save my money and buy everything in cash, no debt.

I decided to finally buy a house (at 47yrs old) the only debt I have, and I saw yesterday that after paying for years and years without a single late payment, and paying mostly just interest to them, they reward me by spiking my interest rates 5%

Buh bye visa and mastercard...

Can't say much about unions, I'm management, my own business, been that way for almost 30 years...

But my employees are happy as I can keep them, even when it meant 3-4 years of me only getting minimum wage to keep them and keep them happy. My employees are my business, irreplaceable.

3. You obviously are not a non-union mega corporation
in which case your objectives would be very different....
