Wingnuts on parade - McKinney, TX - Photos
Edited on Thu Sep-10-09 08:56 PM by tanyev
They billed this as a protest/rally for "Healthcare, unelected czars, government invasion of auto industry, banking, and investments, “cap and trade” and absolute reverence for climate change policy, government bailouts, rushing legislation, lack of border enforcement, funding ACORN, profligate spending by congress, unfunded mandates, earmarks, tax hikes, and the abuse of eminent domain, and kitchen sinks."

(I confess, I added the kitchen sink part.)

They call themselves the Collin County Conservative Republicans. Collin County has a population over 750,000 and as you can see they got a great .001% turnout. :D Actually, that's not quite fair--they were on all 4 corners of the intersection and the largest clump of them is beyond the banner in the picture below. Mr. tanyev's estimate was about 60 people. Since this is a very conservative area, they were getting lots of honks and friendly waves from the passing traffic. *sigh*

Corner 1:

Corner 2:

We the people are still in charge and our government is still our servant and not our pocket.

Took this one while driving by so it's a bit blurry.

Corner 3:

Don't drink the ?

OK, she wasn't actually holding that side to the traffic, but it's still funny. Didn't leave enough room for the word Kool-Aid, or couldn't figure out how to spell it.

Corner 4:

The party of Know/No Uh....what/whut?

7. As a wise man once said
"Texas: too small to be a country, too big to be an insane asylum."

8. I live in mckinney
and collin county is like the ivory tower for the republican party. It will never change. Rich, snooty, fake ass butt heads. I have grown up in this town and am proud that i ended up a crazy left wing socialist even growing up here. Let me tell ya, sparring with these people on issues really helps your skin get thick. thank god i left for chicago for a couple of days today cause my ass would be out there on the other side of that intersection with a commie flag being as ignorant as i could be. So sick of these people. Why is it that these uninformed people are always the ones that get together for a protest. Ridiculous.
