Without a strong public option... |
|
Edited on Thu Sep-10-09 10:57 PM by SHRED
...can someone explain to me what is going to control our cost to purchase health insurance?
Maybe I am overlooking something but I haven't heard any reform currently being debated, that controls cost if it doesn't include a public option. And even then I am skeptical.

3. how would publicly traded... |
|
...corporations in the medical field be able to work?
I don't give a shit about them but how would price controls be compatible with stock holders?

2. We are all quite aware of your ongoing skepticism |

I don't know the answer since the bill hasn't been formalized yet, but I know one thing for sure, you won't be happy with it - even if it does have a public option (it won't be strong enough for you).

...numbers are good - sadly you won't see those numbers where it counts - in Congress.

10. Oh. Well, you see an uncontrolled marketplace will always self regulate. |

Now please avert your eyes from Enron over there and look at these nice mortgage securities I have here.
And I also have a great deal for you on the Brooklyn Bridge.

11. same shit Reagan said |
|
that "competition" between the insurance companies along with cutting out "wastefulness" will cut costs, and those kind and generous companies will turn that savings over to the customers instead of themselves and their shareholders.
In other words, nothing will control premium prices, and with a mandate insurance rates will explode into the stratusphere.
This is yet another vital reason why a STRONG public option available to ALL is absolutely necessary and precisely why Big Insurance will NEVER allow it.
