That's a tam o'shanter. They're ubiquitous at FL and AZ shuffle board courts, along with Madras shorts, white plastic belts, black socks and sandals. I can hand wave the socks; no doubt he has diabetes. Any skin abrasion can be bad news, but there are other colors besides black.
