The Media is making a hero of this guy Joe Wilson... |
|
...and it's just incredible. Joe and Mika are pulling the fake equivalency thing AGAIN, saying that the "Dems" do it too...they seem to be as childish as the Congressman.
This is an impossible fight it seems at times, because they rule a good portion of the morning on cable...is the same thing happening on broadcast networks? I don't watch The Today Show, or Good Morning America. I don't even know the name of the CBS morning show!

2. CBS (I think) had his son on saying his father's "timing was off" and that Wilson |
|
was correct otherwise. It looks like they are painting him as a thoughtful, respectful person and that the screaming was an aberration of a "Dad that raised 4 eagle scouts...". Bullshit media.

5. Hate Radio Beat 'Em To It...What Did You Expect |
|
I predicted he'd be a wingnut hero the second it became an "issue". I'm of the mindset that his outburst was not "spontaneous" but was intended to harass the President to get some kind of reaction. Once that happened the hate radio crowd took it from there.
While much of the corporate media either was castigating Wilson or laughing at him, the wingnuts did as expected...found their new hero of the moment. The more Wilson got pounded, the more a "martyr" he's become in the parallel universe. His half-assed appology said it all. He was sorry he made a scene but not about his lie about "illegals". If anything...and as if right on cue, he's spreading more lies that hate radio is playing up.
But then, if you're a rushpublican, what good things can you look forward to? You're a minority headed into political oblivion and irrelevance. The bench is real thin...any "hero" is a victory to these losers.

9. To the wingnuts he's a hero. What about the non-wingnuts? |
|
The only problem is if those people start thinking "Well, maybe Wilson had a good point," rather than saying he's a jerk.
We'll NEVER change the wingnuts, we just won't. Give up on that. Keep your voice loud and clear, though, on exactly what is going on with people like Wilson.

17. Those That Think He Had A "Good Point" |
|
Were lost causes before. They're the types who think it's perfectly fine to bring a loaded AK to a Presidential rally or to shout down anyone who looks at them the wrong way. It's a small, insular and very dangerous minority, but a minority nonetheless.
The media loves to shine on these losers cause they make "good teevee". They go out of their way to get in front of the cameras and to call attention to themselves. As we've seen over the past 4 years, those over-the-top antics...from Michael J. Fox to Addison Wilson end up backfiring on the GOOP and further alienates both the party and its unhinged members. The moderates long jumped ship.
If anything, Wilson's outburst helped nudged moderates and independents back into President Obama's favor. We've seen it time and again, rushpublicans never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity.
Cheers...

10. They have to - it's part of their arrangement with the RNC |
|
I'm convinced that Wilson didn't do this on his own. Someone higher up the food chain looked for somebody stupid enough to make a scene during Obama's speech and not surprisingly, found this moran. The whole idea was to attempt to take the focus off the speech. As long as people are talking about the asshole that yelled liar during an excellent speech they won't be talking about the speech itself.
It worked too. Even here on DU there are as many "Wilson" threads as "speech" threads.

16. Karl Rove's fingerprints??? |
|
I've been steamed since yesterday because everyone has kind of forgot to talk about President Obama's speech, where healthcare is headed, etc. That dumb a$$ has become a very good distraction for the Greedy Obstructionist Party.

18. Wilson Is A Rove Sockpuppet... |
|
I couldn't help notice sitting next to Wilson was Peter RoScum...a Rove accolyte. They complained they didn't have an advance copy of the speech (they could have called Faux...surely they had one) but came loaded with signs and other antics. This was a premeditated outburst in hopes of taking away any positives President Obama may have gotten from the address. It's backfired with a large majority. The Rovian magic and "math" dont seem to add up to much anymore.
