Very sad story. The usual, an ex-fiance` shot dead, former man in her life (already under a protective order due to domestic violence) is arrested the same day in another county for violation of the protective order the victim had against him. And he happens to be the son of a former Republican Governor who has run for Governor himself.

From the way I read both articles he was alive, shot, and arrested.
