Losers say it's "unfair" to place the well-being of people over corporations!
From a CNN article today:
http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/09/11/health.care/index.html
-------------
"Some more conservative-leaning Democrats also express concerns that it could be too much government involvement and could put private insurers out of business through unfair competition."
-------------

Did you read that? Oh, no, it might not be "fair" to let the government offer a public option, because the corporations might fail at their own game if they have to compete with gov't option that, you know, prioritizes its customers over profits. (Huh???)

But it's worse than that. "Fairness" now means that we must be careful not to harm corporate interests, because, you know, corporations are people too. And apparently they're MORE F'ING IMPORTANT than us flesh-and-blood people.

I thought "fairness" was a moral concept... these losers seem to think that providing health care for needy people would be immoral because it would take away from the obscene profits of insurance providers.

Can we reclaim the word "fairness" please?

1. And the really funny part to me is...
These are the same exact people who scream the banks and auto industry should all have been allowed to fail and go out of business... No bailouts..

Now corporate interests and protecting them is paramount...

2. It reminds me of an article a while ago in either Fortune or the WSJ
that slammed the CEO of Costco for putting customers & employees ahead of share holders (never mind that happy customer+happy employees = more profits).

3. Sweet Zombie Jesus!
Public libraries are a threat to book stores. We must defend Barnes & Nobles!

Municipal water supplies will lead to diminished sales of Evian. We must defend the water bottlers!

Hell, having a federal reserve means Blackwater's shareholders will have to eat Ramen! Dismantle the U.S. Army, quick!

6. Not to mention the fact that

people are calling for health care because they're extremely dissatisfied with the current system.

If the flippin' "invisible hand" worked as advertised, the insurance companies would be competing to make their customers happy.

7. To show them what a nice guy I am, I'll offer the teabaggers a slogan:

CIVIL RIGHTS
for
ARTIFICIAL PERSONS
