There are definitely going to be 2 million people at the 9/12 event.
Probably more like 3 million.

I mean, how could there not be? From all accounts this tea party movement is HUGE and they are ALL going to Beck's 9/12 marketing scheme protest tomorrow!

At least 2 million, at least.

Pelosi, Dems Bracing For Huge Turnout At Glenn Beck/Tea Party Gathering

Looks like there’s serious concern among Dems about the big 9/12 rally that’s being heavily promoted by Glenn Beck, Fox, and the tea partiers for tomorrow.

A top aide to Nancy Pelosi has emailed a memo to Dem aides on the Hill and outside liberal groups warning they should brace for a turnout of up to two million people, suggesting Dems worry that if enough conservatives descend on the Mall it will amount to a major PR victory for the right.

The aide, Doug Thornell, warned in the memo that the dust-up over Joe “you lie” Wilson has been invigorating conservatives. “It looks like Saturday’s event is going to be a huge gathering, estimates ranging from hundreds of thousands to 2 million people,” Thornell wrote in the memo, which was forwarded by a source.

In another sign of concern, the memo painstakingly detailed a range of turnout predictions from the event’s organizers, such as this one from tea party leaders promising a crowd of up to 1,000,000.

Adding to Dem concern is the fact that Beck recently claimed a major victory in the ouster of former green jobs adviser Van Jones.

The House leadership memo predicting huge turnout could have been written in hopes that it would leak and inflate expectations for turnout, anticipating that it will fall far short. But Dems on the Hill insist they’re genuinely worried about what tomorrow will bring.

I mean, according to their estimates, 2 million people would just be a drop in the bucket of their tea party numbers.

25. The weather is going to be perfect -
High seventies, low eighties, a little overcast, maybe a drizzle, but pretty nice.

I hope two million show up. The District can use the revenue, given the dismal vacation season they had this summer. If those teabaggers stay in hotels (is that possible, or am I overlooking the rampant use of tents in church parking lots?) and eat in restaurants, maybe even take a cab here and there, that will be a great infusion of cash into DC's coffers.

I say, Come.

Enjoy.

Clean up after yourselves.

Don't scare the locals.

Suck in your bellies.

Eat.

Spend.

Be fat and happy.

Then, go home..................................................

6. so what?
Bush wrote the history on protests - "We don't focus on special interest groups."

And THAT was for a WORLDWIDE protest that involved countless millions across the entire planet.

Just because they are right wingers does not make them any more relevant.
Out of a population of 400 million - 2 million is nothing. If it was 20 million - that would be different.
And - any violence that occurs - belongs to them. It is theirs.

That has got to be the world's creepiest site. I hope they don't all start drinking tea as there can't possibly be enough Port-O-Sans for so many bladder challenged folk. They'll need hundreds of ramps and extra room for hundreds of thousands of home health care aides.

34. OK, good -
then I don't have to sit out there, waiting.

This is very exciting. I remember so well the Teabaggers' gathering down by the White House on Tax Day. It was inspiring. There must have been two hundred people there!!!

And the Porta-Potties! They were everywhere!

America at its finest.

My favorite part of that was when the organizers wanted to dump a bunch of teabags that they'd collected inside the White House gates, but were warned by the Secret Service that they better not do that.

I understand Their Big Dump took place on a table in an office somewhere. I don't know what else happened, but I'm sure there was cheering and applause.

Or at least someone said the Pledge of Allegiance.

Good times..............................

President undeterred by antiwar teabagger protests

WASHINGTON -- President Bush Obama brushed aside massive small demonstrations against his Iraq economic policy as evidence that protesters ''don't view Saddam Hussein being uninsured as a risk to peace them,'' and he promised to defend US interests despite the millions hundreds who took to the streets worldwide in DC over the weekend.

Bush Obama insisted he respects the rights of protesters to speak out, but he dismissed the largest antiwar demonstrations since the Vietnam era teabagger rally since that Boston thingie, with 6 million hundreds of participants, as unrepresentative of world the majority of US citizens' opinion.

''You know, size of protest, it's like deciding, well, I'm going to decide policy based upon a focus group. The role of a leader is to decide policy based upon the security best interests -- in this case, the security best interests of the people,'' Bush Obama said. ''Evidently some . . . don't view Saddam Hussein health care as a risk to peace necessity for all the uninsured. I respectfully disagree.''

If say 50 thousand people turn up, they will say 500 thousand in DC

If 200 thousand people turn up nationwide, they will say 2 million.

They of course will also say, that the liberal media downplayed the crowds.

Of course the counter protesters numbers will be ignored by faux.

57. 2 bajillion my ass
I live in the DC suburbs. Around here, it was EXTREMELY crowded during the run-up to Obama's inauguration. Traffic on our short stretch of Rt. 1 was more than it's normal bumper-to-bumper for a 3-day weekend that day. Lots of out-of-state license plates. Every frickin' bus on the East Coast was on the DC-area roads that weekend. And they had what, 1.5 million people attend the swearing-in and parade?

Granted, I was bringing my sick cat home from the vet tonight, but I saw nowhere near that kind of traffic on our roads tonight. It was a normal, rainy Friday night. So, judging by the amount of traffic on Rt. 1 in Laurel, I'm guessing that the 9/12 Teabagger thing will be a total bust. If they get five digits, I'll be surprised. Either that, or they'll claim the the Black Family Reunion attendees are actually teabaggers. :sarcasm:
