1. At this point, I would prefer it to fail.
If it passes, my support for the party will drop a little. If it passes without a robust public option or with a trigger, my support level drops dramatically.

4. Only a little.
Trust me, the individual mandate, if it passes, is going to really hurt the Democratic Party. People will deeply resent it, and we will pay the price at the polling booth.

If we pass it, we had better get out money's worth. Frankly, I don't think we will get our money's worth. That's why I would prefer to wait and shoot for "Medicare for All" in 2011.

6. There is no reason to expel (except by primary) but some of these people really need to be
sent to the back of the line. There are just too many conservatives running the flagship committees. They get those chairs to protect swing seats by giving them power but it is very difficult to get a piece of legislation through that reflects the majority of the party.
