13. But who is Judas and Barrabas in this analogy? |
|
The entire DLC would be Judas. They have been betraying Democrats from day one.
Barrabas? I don't know.... the corporate "health care" industry? Max Bluecross??

11. Let him say that he will not sign a bill without a strong public option, an option |
|
that will be available to everyone who wants it and that it starts in a year from signing the bill. Then we can talk about crucifixion.

14. Let you walk a mile in my shoes now. I haven't seen a doctor in over 10 years |
|
Edited on Sat Sep-12-09 01:58 PM by OmmmSweetOmmm
and frankly scared to death to visit one if there will ever be medical care provided for me. I will not go on medicaid and am too young for medicare. I drive too carefully because god forbid I should get in an accident, and have given up activities that can injure me.
So shove it.
(BTW...I only earn enough money to cover my expenses, for that I can say thank goodness)

15. Lots and lots of us are walking in similar shoes, However, it is |
|
quite plain to see that Obama is the first president in a very long time to work this hard to get us better health care. If it was EASY it would have been done a long time ago. IMO, he deserves much more patience and support than has been given him. I understand the wacko right behaving....well, wacko. But it has been so disappointing to see it on DU.

16. The Clinton's worked for it also but they didn't have a majority in both houses. |
|
Obama has not drawn the line in the stand on the public option and is open to "other ideas" for 4 years concerning it. Four years, a very curious number. Just enough time to get Progressives behind him in his next bid for re-election.
Excuse me if I'm bitter but this is a matter of life, quality of life and death for me.

They would die without treatment. And we spend just about every dime we have on keeping them healthy. I pay for our insurance 100% and we spend nearly 20k before we see a dime of coverage. I won't even begin to tell you the horror story of how the insurance companies tried to deny us coverage when they were diagnosed. So you can shove it too.

18. I am sorry about your situation and wish only the best for your family. That said, |
|
you are in a different position than I'm in. Your children will not be denied coverage due to their pre-existing conditions and it seems with what you've been paying, you will get relief from an insurance pool.
I won't without a public option.
Peace.

19. What happens when they are adults? Are they going to be able to afford insurance without a PO? |
|
Edited on Sat Sep-12-09 02:24 PM by berni_mccoy
Probably not when they are young adults. That's why I'm FIGHTING FOR a PO.
But we aren't going to get it if we attack Obama, who also says he's for a PO. I've met Obama with my children when we were at DC lobbying Congress for both a Cure and for Health Care Reform. I do not think he will implement a plan that will let people in your position down. I'm as invested in this as anyone, including yourself. But getting to the goal isn't going to happen if we attack those in the position to make it happen. Maybe that's where you and I differ.
We must pressure them, absolutely. And I've discussed this issue with all my Congressional Reps (including the Republican one). That's how we will win.
