Here's a question for them - ask THEM what comes "after a trillion" and see how many correct answers you get.

It fits because they are wankers. Doesn't matter if it's a teenager or not. Relative?

it's ok not to agree with them but why attack them? They have a right to their opinion, as do you. If we all agreed on everything this would be a very boring place to live. We should attempt to understand all sides of an argument before we choose a position. I feel maybe you are jumping to conclusions unfairly.

Wow, did you know that in 1936 Beardsly Ruml, then the Chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of NY testified before Congress that "taxes are wholly unnecessary for raising revenue in our system. The Federal Reserve can create all of the currency necessary for the operation of government without resorting to taxation. The real purpose of taxation is to maintain a level of control over the wealth of the subjects"

What do you think about that? He was talking about Federal taxation, of course. States need to tax citizens to raise revenue since they cannot create currency like the Federal Reserve.

I am not trying to attack you, I just want you to realize that there are two sides to every coin and maybe you are only looking at one side. When the IRS was created, the national rate for income tax was 1%. Even then it was unnecessary. Income tax collected by the IRS does NOT go toward providing any service to citizens. After the IRS pays it's staff, everything left over goes to the Federal Reserve as interest payments on the national debt. Look it up if you do not believe me. The info is found in the Grace report from Reagan's administration.

Everything you're pointing at in that photo was paid for by state taxes (except phone lines, those are private) and these people are protesting federal taxes. That's all I'm saying. We need to stop fighting each other and realize we all want the same things, we just can't agree on what path to take to get there.

67. No, you're wrong
about several things.

Beardsley Ruml was chairman of the New York Federal Reserve Bank from 1941 to 1946, so he gave no such testimony to Congress in 1936. http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,816852,00.html
Perhaps you can explain what you meant to say.

In 2006, federal revenue from individual income tax was $1,024 billion. And the interest on federal debt was $406 billion. So clearly, federal income tax does provide revenue for government services, although paying the interest on government debt is a vital part of the government anyway. Or are you saying the government should default on its debts, and thus screw millions of Americans, directly, or indirectly through their pension funds, of the interest the government owns them?

11. That's a theological position that I respect. But it is still a theological position....
My own ethical and religious beliefs inform my behavior and activities regarding other human beings, including trying to make my government take care of its own people -- but I adhere to the separation of church and state and don't speak of the particulars of my own church/synagog/temple/grove/circle/association membership or theology when carrying out my public activities.

Which is what I so dearly wish the Republicans would do instead of trying to thrust their own ideology down the throats of everyone else and calling it Christianity.

Still, I agree with you personally on this theological point: it is we who are the working hands of God/Allah/the Goddess/Hashem/the Divine/the Unknowable in this world.

However, knowing that a someone states such a belief (or belongs to a particular religion) has little to do ultimately with whether they behave well or ill toward others. Give me an ethical atheist like my late mother any day over someone like Bernie Madoff who even ripped off Elie Wiesel by cozying up through shared religious affiliation.

16. I would have more empathy for their stand on spending
if they were more consistent in bitching about it. These same people watched Bush piss trillions of dollars away during his term in office and these people cheered him on. Tom Delay twisted arms and kept voting open on the Medicare part B bill until after midnight until he got the vote he wanted and not ONE Republican was outraged over that "socialism".

Congress just passed another $128 billion piss away on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Billions of that will be used to provide health care to Iraqis. They would throw a complete fit if the Democrats put their foot down on any of these billions because supposedly that would be bad for the troops.

Their hypocrisy is truly something to behold. They have no understanding that the reason we are in this mess is that they cheered it on. And now they piss and moan about it when people point it out.

If anyone needs to sit down and shut up it is these idiots. They cheered into the massive debt because they where bed wetting scared sh*tless that the Al Qaeda boogy man was going to go into their puny population of 5,000 towns and blow them up.

They are truly idiots.

50. Not one thing is different
in her current tax rate. Was her money not her money during the Bush years? Why is it only "her money" if a Democrat is in office?

Personally, I didn't want "my money" to go to the Bush wars, or to pay for the tax cuts for the wealthy, or to contractors paid to torture people in our name. But hey, the only way I have any say in how my tax dollars are spent is to vote - and many of us voted, and we voted overwhelmingly against how Republicans use "our money".

And what is this "force"? Gee, Bush "forced" me to pay my taxes via the IRS. What's different?

Amazing how Bush destroyed the middle class and you people didn't say a word.

If it is up to the government to optimize our health-care system, I would like to see an excruciatingly (is that a word?)long process, calling on all of the most brilliant health-care specialists, and being transparent- that means when the people are truly informed, as opposed to Obama's new age of transparency. These people work for us, term limits should be part of the deal.

You, and I, however, are walking dead men. Quality of life is what I care about. Neither theft, nor servitude. factor into that equation.

53. If people are that greedy they don't deserve to keep their mall money.
What is more important: her spending daddy's money on clothes made by slave labor in third world countries, or millions of your fellow citizens getting healthcare so that they are healthy enough to work and contribute to our economy? Never mind. You don't have to answer that. I'm pretty sure you're siding with greed.

42. "Subverting the Constitution is Unamerican"
Gee, somebody left over from the marches against George W. Bush and his cabal looking for ways to legitimize illegal invasions, torture, and the suspension of habeas corpus laws. It's the only explanation that makes sense, unless you count the "blithering dunderhead" hypothesis.

58. I think a lot of these people
just went online and copied our signs. They obviously have no regard for what words mean (socialism = fascism, for instance, or believing the Clear Skies initiative actually reduced air pollution), so why not just copy our signs? When word are meaningless, only the meaningless will have words. Or something like that.

69. What a selfish b*tch!
"Hey my mall money is more important than some unemployed loser getting an unemployment check, or some poor people having something to eat."
