The government runs the Post Office
and I think it is OK! Our public libraries are OK too!

7. Post office is losing money though
Ours is laying off people. And they keep talking about no Sat. delivery.

It still is a sensible approach to a public need though.

19. the Post Ofice isn't supposed to make money.
At most, it should break even. If they ever made a profit, that means they are charging too much, and should lower their costs to their consumers.

20. The Board of Governors runs the USPS
and the USPS does not accept taxpayer dollars.

That's a mistake, in my opinion. We're a Constitutionally mentioned service. If we stopped, so would the country- which is why we postal workers cannot strike. We not only deserve but actually need Federal funding.

The biggest blow to the USPS occurred when we were mandated to be self-supporting. This is one service which should be in operation at whatever cost. It doesn't need to draw a profit.
