I was reading an article today about three soldiers from Fort Carson, Co who had been killed this past week. I was shocked to see that one of them was on his third tour and had already been wounded two different times, and yet he was still sent back.

>Spc. Ismael Solorio took a sniper's bullet through his jaw in 2004 and shrapnel to his hand from a roadside bomb during his first two tours in Iraq. He earned two Purple Hearts.
On his third tour, the new father and husband took a hit he could not survive.
Jesus Solorio said he last heard from his big brother March 29, via an e-mail message. He said his brother, who had struggled after being diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder, sounded "lively."
Ismael seemed more able to handle the pain associated with ongoing surgeries to his jaw and his many missing teeth once he had a child.
"After he came home on leave in January, it was like a total change," Jesus said. "Once he knew he had a daughter, it uplifted him.">
