KFC/Oprah's Grilled Chicken Coupon was roughly 130 times more successful on the first day.

Roughly 40 times more people tried to get online tickets to Michael Jackson's memorial service.

32. The West Side Nut Club's Fall Festival
Edited on Sun Sep-13-09 01:54 AM by LostInAnomie
A little bit of local pride.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evansville_Fall_Festival

The West Side Nut Club cordons off four blocks of West Franklin Street for rides and nearly 200 booths. Paul Harvey once remarked that only Mardi Gras in New Orleans is larger than the Fall Festival.

The main attraction of the festival is the food, with offerings of standards like corn dogs and funnel cakes to the more unusual such as chocolate-covered grasshoppers, brain sandwiches, and alligator stew. All booths are run by non-profit organizations.

The festival was first held in 1924 and has featured an appearance by Minnie Pearl in 1947.

In 2007, there were 80,000 persons who attended the first day of the Fall Festival.

37. USC @ Ohio State, Notre Dame @ Michigan, and UCLA @ Tennessee drew 100,000 each.
That's more than the 60,000 to 70,000 (or even 90,000 if you really want to be generous) that showed up at the racist event in D.C.
