1. And this ......
In Jackson, Michigan, a young man didn't need a sign. He was carrying the real thing: A loaded AK-47 assault rifle and two loaded handguns.

"I don't want a revolution. I don't want a civil war," he said. "But it is a possibility. It's there as an option, as a last resort."

2. Maybe the wrong cop will see him
Give him a chance to die for what he believes.

I'm sorry - this is going to get very ugly. Maybe if a few of these nutcases sacrifice themselves it'll save some lives.....

3. They think they have control of these lunatic nutbags...
"To Wierzbicki these troubling elements are just part of the price of a grassroots movement. He is convinced they will not derail the movement. "The message will be moderated by the time it gets to 2010," he says."

What makes him think they won't turn their hate and their guns on him if he "moderates his message" and tries to walk away from them after he's used them up?

4. Anger against Pres. Obama is the only thing keeping this "movement"
Edited on Sun Sep-13-09 01:04 AM by kelly1mm
together. From what I see there are three very different ideologies represented in the "movement"

1) Libertarians (no taxes, government out of my life types)
2) Older folks who see their world changing and don't know how to cope but LOVE the government services (SS, medicare) they have and don't want anyone to change them at all
3) Conspiracy nuts (basically uncontrollable anyway but rant about fed reserve, illuminati, the AntiChrist etc.)

Once their "other" (Obama) is no longer a focal point and they actually have to talk to each other they will splinter into their own little groups. They don't have a cohesive ideology and that will be the end of this "movement".

8. They don't move on their own, you know. They have monied backers.

That's the organizing force.

10. No doubt about the backers. Still won't be able to sustain a "movement"
though. No shared ideology and only hostility to the "other" as glue. Kind of the opposite of the Perot group. All they had was that they loved Perot. Once he backed out the "party" he created collapsed in a fit on infighting. Same will happen here once they have to talk to each other. The individuals will still be there and still have their pet issues but no more "movement" will exist.

6. No politician wants to be the face of that mob of inbred racists.
They just want them to show up when they need them.

7. Someone is funding them - the insurance racketeers and the media thugs are their
"inspiration".

No big name 'Publican wants to be too closely associated with them in case they do something really stupid, like overt violence.
Politicians talk but leave well before the possibility of violence lest they are involved.
