Michelle Malkin, Freedomworks Caught Inflating Teabag Attendance

Whoops. Only off by 1,930,000.

Matt Kibbe, president of FreedomWorks, the group that organized the event, said on stage at the rally that ABC News was reporting that 1 million to 1.5 million people were in attendance.

At no time did ABC News, or its affiliates, report a number anywhere near as large. ABCNews.com reported an approximate figure of 60,000 to 70,000 protesters, attributed to the Washington, D.C., fire department. In its reports, ABC News Radio described the crowd as “tens of thousands.”

On a personal note, my one one-on-one interaction with a teabagger revealed the same conservative nonsense we hear on Fox.

Discussing health care, the young woman I spoke to first said coverage was cheap. So I asked, not if you have a pre-existing condition. So she said it would cost a little more. I responded, well not everyone can afford that kind of fee – if you can even get coverage in the first place.

Her response?

“So? I wanted a pony when I was kid.”

You flipping morons. Health care is not a pony. Conservatives make me sick

1. If you can't afford health insurance, you're just not trying hard enough.
If you're a successful American, you should have no problem. I don't want my success to be punished by having to pay for your healthcare.

Big ol' :sarcasm: here, but I've actually heard this sentiment from acquaintances!

3. What a despicable cop-out answer.
She would be saying something entirely different if she had a pre-existing condition and needed health insurance because she just found out she had cancer.

To her, I'd say: Good luck getting covered.

4. They want to prevent reform that would help them and their families.
I just can't get past this point. Do they love the current, broken system that much? Or do they just hate Obama? Will they hold themselves, their families, and their nation hostage to their searing hatred of the ooga-booga Black Man?

If they weren't wrecking my country, I would feel sorry for these poor, frightened, deluded fools. What a way to "live".

7. They may be SO protected by their present circs. that they just don't care.

BUT I really suspect a broad ignorance, for example seniors who don't realize that Medicare is provided/paid for by the government. I guess it would be interesting to poll them for where they get their information, and why they have these particular 'beliefs.' A large # from rush/beck, and NO rational explanations.

9. It's more an extension of the revenge mindset where a person will...
...bring harm on themself to ensure harm to another.

12. The simple fact is you can't argue with the willfully stupid and ignorant..
You just can't. Beating your head against a stone wall would give better results. They know what they know, no matter that it lacks facts to support this supposed knowledge, but bedamned if you'll change their minds telling them the truth or even showing them the facts.

13. Family healthcare purchased by an individual: 15-20K/yr.
On what planet is health insurance in the united states of america cheap? This woman is clueless. She either has no healthcare, or thinks that what is deducted from her paycheck at work is the actual cost, or thinks that a 'catastrophic care' non-plan is 'health insurance'.
